How do you give?

Everyone has a favorite charity. Is it the Susan G  Komen fund? The Red Cross?
There are so many. What's yours? I am a bit picky about my charities. I love to give, but I like to see what's being done with my giving. That's when a friend introduced me to Kiva.

Kiva is an organization that lends money to small business owners in  underdeveloped countries.
Think about it, you have a great thought for a small business to make your life better. With no banks to loan you the start up money what do they do? We are not talking about loaning hundreds of dollars here. These people need perhaps $100.00 start up money.
That's where Kiva comes in. Kiva collects donations from people like you or I and puts them together to give to the people as loan. Yes a loan. As in they pay it back!

You choose what small business you want to support. Then you donate as little as $25.00 to the cause.
Within a few months the business then pays that money BACK to kiva. You then get that $25.00 back into your account.
You can withdraw the money or do as I do. Find another family in need trying to start up a small company!

I can't tell you how awesome it is to see my donations make a real difference in someones life! I have been part of Kiva for almost 3 years now and LOVE IT. They are just hitting their 5 year anniversary! I have made several donations over the years and have ALWAYS had the loan repaid, so that I can re loan it to another family in need!  I would love for you to check it out if you get a chance.
