HOW to organize your mass of coupons!!!!!!!
Ok there are a ton of ways to do this.
There are binders, folders, cut them all, keep the inserts whole, piles, stacks whatever.
before I found this method I had piles all over my desk.
I found that cutting every coupon was time consuming and I could never keep track of them
SO I got a plastic bin, inside are hanging folders. On the tabs attached to the folders are the dates the inserts came in. As I get the sunday paper with the coupons in it, I file them in the bin BY DATE.
so how do I know what coupon is in what file and what the heck do I have?
You can make your own data base ( nope I'm lazy) of where each coupon is and where to find it OR you can go to several web pages that already have the data base for coupons set up. Afullcup.com is the one I use but there are many may more out there ( google it and you'll see what I mean)
Now how I put it together is pretty easy
Store Sales adds come Sunday, Monday and Tuesday
Sunday you will find them in the sunday paper
Monday and Tuesday you can find them in your mail box.
Look over the Store sales adds. ( If you don't have a lot of time, pull out all the sales adds and do the looking all at once)
If something looks cheap I mark off with a pen right on the sales add.
Next I go to the coupon data base (afullcup.com) and type in the product to see if there are any coupons on the product to make it cheaper.
Lets say lipton tea is on sale for 1.49 at vons.
I mark this off because that is a good price.
Then I go to "afullcup" (or any database you like) and type in "lipton tea" in the data base search box
That data base will tell me the VALUE of the coupon as well as what insert by date that it came in.
If there are,
- I pull out the coupons from my file bin,
- clip JUST THE ONES I NEED
- paperclip them to the sale add
- make a list of what I am going to get and how many.
Then When it comes time for me to shop I just grab the sales add and get just what is on my list.
Now if you are going to vons make sure you check if there are ecoupons (refer to vons page for this) I Just put in a side note on my grocery shopping list that i have an "ecoupon" for xxxx
when I use Extra care bucks(ECB) for cvs or Rebate rewards (RR) for wallgreens I keep these in a small accordion folder in my purse and pull them out as needed. I do this by keeping the ones that expire the soonest in the front. There is nothing worse than loosing an ECB or RR because you forgot the date it expired.
so this is the lazy chicks way to do this
As I said there are tons of ways to do it
so whatever works for you, go for it.
